LET'S SHINE LOUISA

DON’T MISS IT – In an event to remember, you’ll find food vendors, a flea market, speakers, information booths, educational opportunities, children's activities, music, and much more all supporting our general theme of environmental stewardship. Our partners, the Central Virginia Master Gardeners, will be presenting seminars as well as a plant clinic and plant sale.

RAIN BARREL WORKSHOP: The hugely popular Rain Barrel Workshop will be repeated this year. Stay tuned to this website for further details on registration and cost.

Space is limited so contact Nancy Lear at 540-894-9919 or nmlear@hughes.net if you would like to be a Festival vendor.

Kids will again compete in the recycling/anti-litter poster contest throughout the Louisa County schools. Contact Wanda Bailey at 540-894-5115 or email baileywk@lcps.k12.va.us for details.

And, there’s more -- Louisa County staff and supervisors will be present at the Festival to discuss the major expansion of recycling services available to county residents. In addition, Louisa County and your Clean Community Commission will sponsor other special events during the April Clean Up Louisa Month.

Contact the General Services Department at 866-325-4131 or visit the county’s web site at: www.LouisaCounty.com/LCdepts/generalservices.htm for further information or to find the location and hours of the recycling center nearest you.

Louisa’s Clean Community Commission is asking for volunteers to join with the nearly 150 Adopt-a-Highway groups in the County to get ALL roadway litter picked up in April. If you can commit to a one-time pick up, please register with Volunteers of Louisa by calling 540-967-6095 or visit their web site at http://www.thevol.org.

Better yet, if you would like more information on joining the Adopt-A-Highway program, contact VDOT directly at 540-967-3710. VDOT’s statewide Adopt-a-Highway Spring Clean-Up also will take place in April.

For Town of Louisa Residents ONLY: A special curbside pick-up is being planned during April's clean up Louisa month. Stay tuned for further details.

The Town of Louisa will be participating in Louisa County’s Beautification Festival. Staff from the town's Department of Water and Sewer will be on hand to answer your questions about town services.
